STC Education Committee Year-End Report 1997-1998
Summary |
 |
1997-1998 was another busy
and productive year for the Education Committee. In addition to performing

Competition, and assisted an area elementary school in preparing its fourth
graders for the Florida Writes test. We also maintained our World Wide
Web site and provided mentoring assistance upon request to students and
to professional colleagues.

expands its commitments.
- Once approved, the charter

for other STC chapters.
Individual Recognition |
 |
- Dan Jones received the
prestigious Jay Gould award for excellence in college instruction
of technical communication. He was also named an Associate Fellow
within STC, has published two books, and is well on the way toward
his third. Way to go, Dan!
- Dan Voss was named Author
of the Year at Lockheed Martin Electronic & Missiles, as a result
of coauthoring (with Lori Allen) a college text on ethics in technical
communication. This marked the first time in 40 years that award has
not gone to an engineer.
