Using STC to Build a Bridge Between Industry and Academe

Session Description: This presentation explained how the STC Orlando Chapter and the Technical Communication Department at the University of Central Florida have developed a dynamic and mutually sustaining relationship. It described and provided materials on several successful joint programs (mentoring program, scholarship fund, fund-raising for educational outreach, involvement of students in chapter activities and grooming them for future leadership). A turnkey CD with papers and briefings describing the programs and administrative tools used to implement them was provided to participants.
